MADAGASCAR’S GAME OF CHANGING TIDES

Tide & Stone

Move closer. Pull away. Turn a single step into a sweeping capture.

Ivory 22IVORY TO MOVE Jade 22

THE TWO TIDES

A quiet board. A sharp turn.

Ivory moves first. Select your stone, then an empty neighboring point along a line. Highlighted rings show where you can go.

Approach: move toward an unbroken enemy line to take it. Withdrawal: move away from an enemy line to take the stones behind you. If both work, choose one.

A capture is compulsory when available. Keep capturing with the same stone, changing direction each step and never revisiting a point. You may end a capture chain early. Win by taking every enemy stone or leaving no legal move.

YOUR NEXT STEP

Find the opening.

Try the five practice tables to learn both captures, then take on the computer. Hints show a suggested move; they do not play for you.

Keyboard: Tab to a board point; arrows explore, Enter selects. Escape cancels an unfinished path. Progress saves on this device. Three repeated positions or 300 turns end a match in a draw.
